App Volumes Agent fails to install

We are experiencing issues installing the App Volumes Agent 2103 to our Windows 10 gold images.

I have removed the DEM and Horizon agents and VMware Tools, rebooted and reinstalled DEM, Horizon and VMware tools, but the App Volumes agent fails with the following:

App Volumes  Agent Setup Wizard ended prematurely.

The install will start and when it tries to start the SVService, it performs a rollback.

Install order

VMware Tools - 11.3.5

Horizon Agent - 2103

DEM - 2106

App Volumes - 2103

I ideas what may be going wrong?

Make sure the svservice is removed after uninstall.

I would revert back to a good Gold Image snap and test the install again or install on a clean VM to see if you get the same results.

Most likely your image has something not cleared and/or un-configured properly.

Get the MSI cleaner to make sure all AVM agent MSI components have been removed from the registry and file system.

That was the issue - the SvService was still present. Removed it from the registry, rebooted and was able to install successfully.

Thanks.
