App Volumes Agent Install Error after updating Windows 7 with October Updates

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this. After updating my gold image with the October patches for Windows 7, I can't install the AppVolumes Agent. I get an error:

The Security Package KB3033929 is not installed on this 64 bit machine. Please install it from <link> and trying installing AppVolume Agent again.

I've tried downloading and installing the update, but when trying to run the MSU is just says it's already applied.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I found this link Problems installing the 2.11 Agent‌‌ which indicates it's an issue with using the convenience update for Windows 7, but I haven't used that on this machine.

Ok, so after contacting VMware Support, I've got this solved with the following solution:

Error

The Security Package KB3033929 is not installed on this 64 bit machine. Please install it from and trying installing AppVolume Agent again.

Action Plan

Step 1. Open command prompt as administrator

Step 2. Navigate to directory which contains AppVolumes Agent 2.11 installer

Step 3. Run below silent installation command and verify if the installation completes

msiexec.exe /i “App Volumes Agent.msi” /qn MANAGER_ADDR= MANAGER_PORT=

Note :
1. Replace  with AppVolumes Manager FQDN or IP
2. Replace with 80 or 443 according to AppVolumes Manager configuration

This allowed me to install the agent.

Apparently this issue will also be resolved in the next version of Appvolumes, 2.12

Okay, so if you silently install the application it will just bypass the requirement check?? Good to know this for future purposes Smiley Happy.
