They are all just tools to help you prepare. Like your own website has alot of great information and that information alone will not garuntee you passing but it helps by giving more exposure.

I feel some of the books help take away that whitepaper feel you get when studying straight documents. Which we all know it can be overwhelming at times.

VMware course book are only for people that attend at the exam.

The offical docs could be enough: http://www.vmware.com/support/pubs/vs_pages/vsp_pubs_esxi41_i_vc41.html

But is big and huge.

You can also try to use book like "Mastering vSphere" (from Scott Lowe).

Andre

Like stated above regardless you must attend a Class to obtain your VCP certification. Mastering vSphere by Scott Lowe is a great resource and will surely help. And personally I would see that as a reference manual over study guide.

There are other books out there

VCP Exam Cram

VCP VMware Certified Professional vSphere 4 Study Guide (Exam VCP410)

Both are great resources geared towards the exams.

I've looked at study books for VCP, and have easily found errors in them, and sometimes many errors. I wouldn't buy one. There is no substitute for using the exam blueprint, official documentation, and the software to do the things you will get tested on. Mastering vSphere is a great reference book, and great at explaining concepts that you might not understand, but I'd question it's value as an out and out study book for VCP.

Scott.
