Having the drivers in the base image should speed things up and will also prevent other problems, regardless of whether you're mapping printers through GPO or UEM.

Hi community!

We use Horizon Instant Clones with Windows 10 and UEM for our user profiles.

At every login, our group policy settings install the printers of the user, who is connecting to the instant clone.

This sometimes means 30-40 seconds additional login time.

How do you handle the printer installation?

Thank you!

An advantage of UEM is that it can map printers asynchronously, this will not add time to the logon proces, but maps printers in the background.

The best practice is still to include the drivers for your printers in the golden image.
