Thanks for the response and great information! I appreciate it. I agree, the times are tiny, but I love the idea of a cleaner log

Thanks again,

Mike

Good afternoon,

I left a bunch of the pre-stagged config files that UEM comes with out of the box as reference points to build other ones. Even though they're disabled, I was curious if it would affect login time. Looking at the logs, it'll still go through these ini files at login, so I'm thinking it might?

Sorry if this question was asked before.

2017-05-10 11:09:12.199 [INFO ] Skipping disabled config file '\\hnevdifarm\UEMConfig$\General\Applications\PaintDotNet.ini'

2017-05-10 11:09:12.203 [INFO ] Skipping disabled config file '\\hnevdifarm\UEMConfig$\General\Applications\VLC.ini'

2017-05-10 11:09:12.207 [INFO ] Skipping disabled config file '\\hnevdifarm\UEMConfig$\General\Applications\Microsoft Office 2013\Access.INI'

2017-05-10 11:09:12.211 [INFO ] Skipping disabled config file '\\hnevdifarm\UEMConfig$\General\Applications\Microsoft Office 2013\Excel.INI'

2017-05-10 11:09:12.215 [INFO ] Skipping disabled config file '\\hnevdifarm\UEMConfig$\General\Applications\Microsoft Office 2013\InfoPath.INI'

2017-05-10 11:09:12.219 [INFO ] Skipping disabled config file '\\hnevdifarm\UEMConfig$\General\Applications\Microsoft Office 2013\OneNote.INI'

Thanks,

Mike

Hi MikeC3964,

Yes, the "disabled" status is part of the config file content, so the UEM agent has to read all config files. Although the overhead of reading such a file is small (in your example log fragment each takes 4 milliseconds), it's best to remove the ones you don't need. This will also keep your log files a bit tidier, as they won't be full of "Skipping disabled ..." entries.
