When it starts appears a message from the guest OS saying that network drivers are not installed. If you follow the wizard it does not found the drivers. VMtools are installed.

Any hint?

Is the VM configured to have a Network Adapter in its Settings and is it connected?

If yes, then make sure the .vmx configuration file has the following option:

ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000"

If it doesn't, then with the VM shutdown, not suspended and VMware Player closed add it to the VM's .vmx configuration file.
