I know this is nearly a year old but, can you describe what you mean by "putting '1' number at the first of ovf file"?

I'm having the same issue. My OVA imports into vCenter no problem, but in Workstation I get the same error. Extracting the files and importing the OVF works.

I made an ova file without ovftool, meaning that disks converted to .vmdk by qemu-img and mf is made by sha256sum, and also ova is made by tar command and --format ustar option.

The problem is here, vmware send this message and said that he can't find ovf file in ova, although ova contians it.

In some article, I've read that extracting ova file will make it alright, but I don't want to extract it.

putting '1' number at the first of ovf file will work out (I tried it and worked), but it shouldn't be like that, should it?

any help will be appreciate.

thanks.
