Workstation windows.iso 17 older than 16?

Was running 16.2.4. A few months back there was a security issue with windows.iso tools and you could download an updated version from your vmware account. I did. Updated tools. Moved to 17. Now when I run vmware tools reinstall I get the message 'newer version already installed'. Should I wait for an update to 17 or do something else?

If you installed a newer version from VMware's download site and you aren't experiencing any problems, then I'd leave VMware Tools alone.

If there are problems (or you are uncomfortable with the situation), then uninstall the newer Tools from the guest, and do the install of the Tools from the Workstation menus.

Thank you. That was my direction. Part of my post was to understand why VMWare would release a Tools ISO for 16.2.4, then release Workstation 17 and the tools on 17 would be older. Strange.
