VMware Workstation 15.5.5 exits Unity mode when taskbar settings are changed

I have VMware Workstation Pro 15.5.5 on several Windows 10 workstations. Applications on the v/m are displayed on the physical machine via Unity. Recently, around last Thursday (users aren't quite sure of the exact day), Unity mode will suddenly terminate and the highlighted application on the physical machine will disappear. Opening the v/m icon on the toolbar shows the v/m window and Unity has terminated. We have found a way to duplicate the problem at will. Making any change to the task bar settings on the physical machine will immediately result in the v/m exiting Unity mode. Adjusting the Date/Time will not cause Unity mode to exit. This is a new, recent issue and we have been running these v/m's for several years. We keep these workstations updated with MS Updates and feature updates but I cannot see any update that directly relates to the beginning of this problem. Log files are attached. Any help will be appreciated.
