Hi,

I had the exact same idea and did the same. Now VMs are running without issues. By downgrading different issues (networking and storage) have gone away.

it took me quite some to get through this.

regards

Upgraded Player to 6.2.0 recently. I'm running an Archlinux guest on a Win10 host and the VM will crash after about 30mins-1hr.

This happens even without any hgfs IO: VM sits at console login prompt after boot with hgfs mounted via fstab. No user has logged in and no userspace IO is done via hgfs.

See vmware.log attached.

2021-10-18T15:01:03.801Z In(05) hgfsOplockThread Msg_Post: Error
2021-10-18T15:01:03.801Z In(05) hgfsOplockThread [msg.log.error.unrecoverable] VMware Player unrecoverable error: (hgfsOplockThread)
2021-10-18T15:01:03.801Z In(05)+ hgfsOplockThread Exception 0xc0000005 (access violation) has occurred.
2021-10-18T15:01:03.802Z In(05) hgfsOplockThread [msg.panic.haveLog] A log file is available in "C:\Users\eszabo\VMs\x import\vmware.log".
2021-10-18T15:01:03.802Z In(05) hgfsOplockThread [msg.panic.requestSupport.withoutLog] You can request support.

Posting this as other VMware products may share the same codebase.

--Endre

Same problem here. Guest is Windows 2019 and after I rolled back to WS 16.1.2 there are no more crashes.
