I can't install VMware player 16 in Windows 10 Host

Hi, I am using Windows10 Pro (20H2) as my host system. And I trying to install vmware player 16.1.0.

I can't install vmware player due to an error message :

Install can't continue: Microsoft runtime DLL install application is not able to complete this installation.
(Please refer to attachment for my screen shot)

I am using traditional chinese windows10, so sorry I can't get the system message in English.

But, If there is anyone know this issue. It will be great help for me.

Hi,

Basically the problem is that the latest Microsoft Visual C++ runtime doesn't want to install via the VMware Player installer.

Have a look at the following blog post.

I update the Visual C++ package. and the installation is working....YA...

But, during the installation, I got another error. It shows "Player.cab" is not found.

I have google it. But I can't find answer for this.

Would you please help me on this. Thank you.

BTW, I have running Vmware player for years. It's my first time to get so many errors during setup.

I don't know this error..
Perhaps it is what it says? It is possible that the download was corrupted.

Try downloading a fresh copy.
