Hi,

Yeah i am running version 8 so I will downgrade and see if it works. I'll reply here once ive tried it.

Do i then have to run a certain horizon client version on my Mac as im assuming the new one wont be compatible with the older agent version?

Thanks

HI,

I have an M1 macbook pro and 1 external monitor and connect to a vm using the horizon client. Last week for no reason i started getting the error "Desktop display arrangement does not exactly match your Mac's because you are using a mix of retina and non-retina monitors. If any problem, please disable "Use full Resolution for Retina display" under "Connection" menu.

I have done that and rebooted but nothing changes. I have tried to change the resolution on my mac, on my monitor and on my VM but nothing works and i cant work out why! Everything stays fuzzy and unreadable. When just using my mac and monitor its absolutely fine so i know its my vm causing an issue but cant work out why. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Macaulay,

Is your horizon agent version is 7.1.x?

If it is that, please use 5.5.3 or 5.5.4 horizon Mac client.

7.1.x agent doesn't support per monitor dpi sync, so using 8.x horizon Mac Cient will pop up such warning.

To get the best user experience, suggest to upgrade the server and agent to 8.x.

7.1.x has limitation to support DPI Sync in multiple monitor.

Thanks & Regards

Zhenghua

Hi,

I cant find a version that low as its so out of date but I have been able to get version 2006 - 8 which works but the issue is on such an old client teams doesnt allow you to offload!

Are you suggesting if the VM is on a host with the latest version then the client the same it should work?

Thanks

Macaulay,

If your agent is horizon 8, then please keep current client version and don't fall back to 5.x client.

This is just a general warning in case someone arranges the monitor in strange topology with retina and non-retina monitor.

If you don't meet any problem during your operation, just ignore the warning.

Thanks & Regards

Zhenghua

Hi,

I have kept it at the latest version but still the monitor is fuzzy. I have tried adding and disabling that check box for retina display and still nothing changes.

I have seen a few other posts about this in the last few weeks but no clear fix yet.

Thanks

Macaulay,

Would you please double confirm what's your Horizon AGENT server version?

If it is 8.x, please file support ticket for this issue.

In 7.x, the "Use full Resolution for Retina display" only takes effect for single monitor, it cannot take effect for more than one monitors in fullscreen, that's why it's fuzzy. Because we start to support dpi sync for multiple monitor since 8.x Horizon AGENT server. In such case, you can contact your admin whether can upgrade to 8.x for horizon agent server.

Thanks & Regards

Zhenghua
