Hey there!

Sounds like a technical glitch. I think it would be a good idea to rebuild and refresh your system to see what the problem is. Why not try running the tool on your Virtual Desktop instead of the client endpoint?

Now, VMware Horizon Clients are a good option especially if you need smooth on-the-go access to your Virtual Desktop from any location. However, you may actually need something that resonates with your setup more effectively. Have you ever considered alternatives like deploying a standard Raspberry Pi Thin Client configuration at your place? Who knows, the vendor might also be able to give you more information on all possible options that complement your requirements.

Feel free to share your thoughts with me!

Hello all,

i am using the Horizon Client to work from home and, on occasions, it is terribly slow. My computer itself is new and fast with everything, except the Client.

So i used the VMWare Optimization tool, hoping to get a better performance out of VMWare.

The endresult was, that VMWare was not faster, quite the contrary actually, and after i restarted my computer, my WIFI does not work anymore. My WiFi adapter is not deactivated, it simply does not find any WiFi networks.

Also, i wanted to re-activate the windows defender. That doesnt work, the PC now tells me, that this can not be activated.

I then wanted to use the windows recovery, which also doesnt work because this is now apparently deactivated and i get an error message before i can click on anything.

From the looks of it, i will have to kill the whole PC and install it new. Unless any of you have any good ideas how to solve this?

Thanks in advance

Fabio

The Optimization tool is to be run on the virtual desktop that you are connecting to and not your client device.

As above, you are not meant to run that on a fat machine it is made for base images and VM's.

I cant remember if that optimization tool has a reversal button and im not in front of my PC at the moment but to be honest, i would probably rebuilld your machine.

As for the slowness of it when your working at home -

Whats you connection at home like?

What protocol are you using - Blast/PCOIP?

Are you going through a VPN or direct?
