Hey I know this is a fairly old post now but, I was banging my head against the wall on it too. If you're using windows embedded standard 7 there is a new policy in SP1 that allows you to handle this:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh505826(v=winembedded.60).aspx

If you're using the HP Thin Clients there's an easy fix here:

http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?sp4ts.oid=5226817&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf…

Hope it helps.

VMWare Horizon View w/Local Mode - Ctrl Alt Del - Need Administrator Rights

I want to be able to use Ctrl+Alt+Del (not Ctrl+Alt+Ins) within the VM guest OS after logging on through VMware Horizon View Client without having it invoked on both the host and guest. I found out that installing VMware Horizon View w/Local Mode and enabling a setting called "use enhanced keyboard on windows client if available" in group policy would achieve that. Indeed, doing the aforementioned works, but if I remove the user's administrator rights (Windows 7) Ctrl-Alt-Del would work again in both the guest VM and host. I tried using "runnas" to elevate privileges and pass a user credential with admin rights but it doesn't work correctly. Is there any way around this without the admin rights? VMware comes up with the idea of allowing you to invoke Ctrl-Alt-Del within the guest VM but only with admin rights. What gives?

Thanks.
