There are no Apple silicon versions of Fusion 11 and Fusion 12.

The first version of Fusion which will support Apple silicon will almost certainly be called Fusion 13 but it has not been released yet. In the meantime, you can try a Technology Preview of Fusion with Apple silicon support by visiting https://communities.vmware.com/t5/Fusion-Tech-Preview-22H2/ct-p/3022

Note that any VMs you have built with Intel operating systems will not run under Fusion on Apple silicon. Only VMs created with ARM operating systems will work.

You might want to read this excellent article by @Technogeezer at https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-Fusion-Documents/Running-Fusion-on-an-Intel-Mac-and-upgrading-to-an-M1-M2-Mac/ta-p/2888565

Thanks for clarifying.

strangely enough I installed the pro 12 intel version and it worked fine,

when I tired to install the pro 11 intel version I get an error saying not support.

I will start using the version you mentioned. I don't really use the Mac for VMs only to manage the ESXI hosts we have and for accessing the VMs on them via console.

Actually as I think about it it might not be so strange what you're seeing.

Fusion 11 is unsupported on macOS 11 and 12 so it's understandable that it won't install. Those macOS releases made a lot of changes under the hood/bonnet which had to be addressed in Fusion 12.

While Fusion 12 is unsupported on Apple Silicon, it will install - as you found. The GUI portions actually will execute (their Intel code will run under Rosetta). It's just when users try to run a virtual machine that the unsupported part rears its ugly head. The virtualization hypervisor pieces built into Fusion 12 don't work on Apple Silicon.

However I suspect your specific use case for managing ESXi and accessing the ESXi VMs via console don't depend on the hypervisor bits in Fusion 12 that don't work on Apple Silicon.

That all being said, give the Tech Preview release (which is built to run on Apple Silicon) a try and see if it works for you.
