Suggestion for Migrating a Fusion vm v10.1.16 to a new Mac

I am in the process of migrating a vm from my old mac to my replacement.

I can't upgrade the old Mac's Fusion given the IOS rev 10.1.16

Regarding the new Mac, if I install Fusion 11.5, will I be able to migrate the 10.1.16's vm successfully to the new Mac.

Haven't actually migrated a vm before .. any documentation recommendations to guide me.

Shut down the VM on the old mac (not suspend). Delete any snapshots. Copy the VM to the new mac (not using time machine!). Launch the VM, when prompted update the virtual hardware and VMWare tools in the guest.

That should do it
