I successfully upgraded a Windows 7 VM to Windows 10. I was able to log into Windows 10 and set the preferences that I desired. I then powered down Windows 10 using the Start menu.

Upon restarting Windows 10, I get a black screen only...there is no logo, no anything on the screen.

I attempted to install VMWare Tools using the "Virtual Machine" menu in the host (Mac OS X), but it appears to be stuck, because there is is greyed out "Cancel VMWare Tools Installation" item where "Install VMWare Tools" used to be. It never gets past that point.
