      <title>ESXI Host Lost Logical Processors after Patches</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;VMware 6.5 U2 &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My ESXI hosts are Dell PowerEdge&amp;nbsp; R430 Gen 13&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2623 v3 @ 3.00GHz &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;All servers have 1x quad core CPU installed (8 threads)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On my ESXI Hosts I got a warning&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Warning “esx.problem.hyperthreading.unmitigated” after installing ESXi patches&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The article I found&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://kallesplayground.wordpress.com/2018/08/15/warning-esx-problem-hyperthreading-unmitigated-after-installing-esxi-patches/" title="https://kallesplayground.wordpress.com/2018/08/15/warning-esx-problem-hyperthreading-unmitigated-after-installing-esxi-patches/"&gt;Warning “esx.problem.hyperthreading.unmitigated” after installing ESXi patches. | Kalle's playground&lt;/A&gt; &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I went to configuration then advanced settings&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;changed&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;"VMkernel.Boot.hyperthreadingMitigation”&lt;BR /&gt;to “true” &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;After restart my Logical Processors went from 8 to 4&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any thoughts?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Tom&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;a.p.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thanks for the links&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I see that tell you to upgrade the vcenter also I forgot about that&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I just upgraded my vcenter to &lt;SPAN class="ng-scope ng-binding"&gt;6.5.0.30000 Build Number 14020092&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;After that should I change the&amp;nbsp; "VMkernel.Boot.hyperthreadingMitigation”&lt;BR /&gt;to “false”&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; it is true now.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
