I'm wondering if this facility exists.

We're currently carrying out a security audit on our VMware Infrastructure. This has got me thinking about notifications when a change has been made to a host.

Does anyone know if it's possible to send an email notification each time a user makes a change to a host - detailing Hostname/User ID/brief description of the change ?

I have searched google, with no joy.

Thanks

Dmont

Maybe you should look at a solution like Netwrix Auditor for VMware

VMware Auditing and Reporting with Netwrix Auditor

This would also be a use case for either vROps or with vRLI integrated with vCenter. By watching logged events for host changes, you can craft an alarm which sends an email if it finds any matches on a query.
