Hi,

Are you trying to connect to the ESXi host or the vCenter server, I see that you are using a non-root user account? I presume that you are trying to login to the ESXi host and if this is the case, use root and the password that you provided during installation.

To troubleshoot the issue check for the following:

Network connection between the ESXi host and the client PC. Can you ping the ESXi host from the client PC?

Login to the ESXi host console using ILO and press F2 and restart the management network. If this still does not work, then login to the ESXi shell using ALT F1 and check the /var/log/hosd.log for any errors.

-Arun

Twitter: https://twitter.com/arunpande

Blog: http://highoncloud.blogspot.in/

About VMware Virtualization on NetApp

Did you install ESXi using VMware workstation? If yes, check the network settings for the ESXi VM. If the client IP and the ESXi host IP is the same, you may use a bridged netowrk.

-Arun

Twitter: https://twitter.com/arunpande

Blog: http://highoncloud.blogspot.in/

About VMware Virtualization on NetApp
