We connect our ESX servers to a Equallogic iSCSI SAN using VMWare's iSCSI adapter. I have a datastore that only has store's ISO files. Up to this point, I can only connect this datastore to one ESX server at at time. I have to disconnect from one and manually connect to the other. We currently have a relatively bare bones installation (don't have vCenter yet, no clustering, etc).

Is there anyway to connect the same datastore to multiple ESX servers? I even tried setting the Equallogic SAN volume to read only (since I just need to read the ISO files), but I can't connect to any ESX Servers when I do that.

As long as the iSCSI storage adapter is enabled and configured correctly on each ESX host there is no reason why they can't all see the same Datastore for ISO purposes.

I thought I had tried thought before, but I guess I wasn't patient enough (re-scanning after changing the setting on the SAN).

I set the SAN to "Enabled shared access to the ISCSI target from multiple initiators" and that seemed to do it.

Thanks.
