As per EVC basics it help vMotion to take place between CPU of same model but different clock speed or number of cores.</P><P></P><P>Our old server has - Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU&nbsp;&nbsp; E5640&nbsp; @ 2.67GHz</P><P>and new server has - Intel Xeon Processor E5-2680 v4</P><P></P><P>The old server is running ESXi 5.5 and plan is to install ESXi 6.0 on new server and put them in the same cluster and migrate the VM from ESXi 5.5 to ESXi 6.0.</P><P></P><P>Is EVC or vMotion not going to work when using above mentioned CPU model.
