      <title>vCenter alerts and smtp authentication</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi Guys,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm trying to send vCenter alerts so I can keep track of what is going on with my hardware but unfortunately I do now see a place to enter the username and password for authentication.&amp;nbsp; Is there some place special to configure this?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Right, now I see what you mean.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;No, unfortunately SMTP authentication in vCenter is not supported. You will have to disable authentication for vCenter on your SMTP server by whitelisting its IP address.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
