Thanks Alistar for your fast reply.

You are saying in other words to create a vm on local datastore with Unix/Linux OS and using it as a NFS server and share the local storage so it can be accessible from the network?

If not, can you explain more about "mount the VMFS via NFS on a Unix/Linux system quite easily"

Best regards,

Pedro Amorim

Hello everyone,

I have a HP Proliant DL380 Gen9 with ESXI 5.5 update 3 with NetApp attached for the VMs. All working well and I want to use the free local SSD storage from the ESXI server to map as a network drive in other server (Windows Server).

There is a way how to share to the network that local storage? I could not find any thing about that on internet.

Wish you all a good weekend.

Best regards,

Pedro Amorim
