ESXi 7 not detecting Raid controller Broadcom PERC H310 Adapter

Hi All,

The server is a Gigabyte H87-HD3

I did upgrade from ESXi 6 to 7

However, when installing with the standard ESXi 7, the installer detects the controller's unsupported hardware found.

I installed it anyway with no hardware warning.

After the upgrade, I have no access to Storage RAID
Is it possible to fix the compatibility of the RAID controller in ESXI 7?

lspci | grep -i raid
0000:01:00.0 RAID bus controller: Broadcom PERC H310 Adapter [vmhba1]

The reason behind this is because the megaraid_sas driver used by that HBA, has been deprecated in version 7: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/77304

And if you search for the H310 adapter it was last supported in ESXi 6.5 U3.

Looks like the highest version of ESXi that supports the H310 adapter is 6.5
