Did you build a RAID container of all 4 disks or do you want them to be separate?

Hello,

I have a server with 4x4 TB of disk.
I have freshly installed ESXi 7.0 from OVH platform.

When I want to expand my datastore1 with the capacity of the other three disks, they do not show up under the message "The following devices are unclaimed and can be used to create a VMFS datastore."

Whereas in the device list, all four disks do appear. Each with a VMFS partition in gpt format.

On other servers of mine it worked fine.

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks in advance for your help.

To ensure that I understand this correctly. You are planning to expand a datastore by adding additional disks as extents?

If that's the plan, the disks to add must not contain partition tables, i.e. you will have to wipe their partition tables.

I had the 3 other disks with already a partition table VMFS

I have wiped the partition on these disks.

Then I managed to add these disks to increase the capacity of datastore1

Thank you very much André

You are welcome.

However, please keep in mind that what you have now is kind of a RAID0, i.e. if one of the 4 disks fails, you'll lose everything!
