I have a 2 node MS cluster using 2008 R2 with attached RDM's in VMware ESXi 5, and I am going to migrate them to new physical servers. I have never done a migration like this, but I was thinking of attaching the RDM disks to my physical servers and adding them to my current cluster. I will then fail over my cluster onto one of the physical nodes and then remove the VM's from the cluster. Will this work or has someone done this and has a better recommendation?

I haven't done this but would have thought as long you have your RDMs on a SCSI controller with SCSI Bus Sharing set to Physical this would be work. Making necessary changes to share the LUN to ESXi host(s) and new physical servers.

Edit: As you have a MSCS on ESXi you may have seen this already, it covers a cluster in a physical and virtual machine scenario, so the requirements may be relevant to you.

http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-50/topic/com.vmware.ICbase/PDF/vsphere-esxi-vcenter-server-50-mscs-guide.pdf
