I think it is "fixed". I went into device manager and removed its. Rebooted and it came back. Disabled it and it seems OK. No more warnings and the partition is still working. I suspect some kind of mismatch with VMware tools. Maybe download latest and install manually.

New install of Server 2016 on ESXi 7.02. All OK after install, clean system log. Added a second hard drive. All OK. Installed VMtools and get the above as warning in the log. If I go into the registry, the event points to the added drive as a portable device, virtual disk. Seems to be working OK but haven't seen this before. Drivers look the same before and after. Tried deleting the registry key, but it comes back.

Probably OK, but I don't like it. Anyone seen/solved same?
