Hi,

VDP 6.1. I'm studying how to do file level recovery and Admin Guide says I must access the VDP Restore Client:

https://<IP_address_of _VDP_appliance>:8543/flr

It's asking me for username and password ("Basic mode") and I don't understand what I must to enter.

When I use the same credentials that are OK in

ttps://<VDP_Appliance>:8543/vdp-configure/

- default username root and password, Restore Client says:

"Login failed. Cannot locate vm in vCenter". Which vm ? Must I configure something first ?

Sorry, but to use the FLR on Linux, you have to log on in a Linux virtual machine with GUI (and Flash enabled) and that virtual machine must be backed at least once.

Take a look at the VMware KB article: Logging in to the vSphere Data Protection Restore Client fails with the error: Cannot locate login client in VDP (204209…

To resolve this issue, log in to a virtual machine where a backup job has been created and run to allow for file level restores.
