topic vSphere with Tanzu CNI options in VMware vSphere™ Discussions

Hello. There are many different flavors of Kubernetes Tanzu offerings from VMWare and each seems to have its own differences. I used to be able to build TKG clusters using my preferred CNI option. However, in vSphere with Tanzu I can’t seem to select any other CNI except for Antrea or Calico. When I select Calico and try to upgrade it to the latest upstream version, it gets rolled back to some default installation version. Is there a way to use any other CNI on vSphere with Tanzu or upgrade Calico to the latest upstream version?

When you use vSphere with Tanzu, it's an opinionated stack and, as such, won't allow you to turn all the knobs. If that's something you want to be able to do, then TKG multi-cloud (AKA "standalone") gives you those controls.
