Could one template transfer to other environmal (might the versioin is defferent) and deploy to a VM for working?

I would like to install WSR2012R2 on VC remotely.

The template create on VC version 6.0.0.10200. I wonder if transfer the template to other network with different builder version to deploy to a VM?

Is it available or not?
