exporting VM from vCenter to mount storage

Hi,

I am using vCenter 6.5

I use windows to connect to vCenter web UI, in my windows, I have "map network drive (Z:)"

I have a question about this: when I exporting VM and chose the location to mount point (drive Z), vCenter copy directly from VM's host to mount point? or export to itself and then copy to mount point?

which one of the below data transfer diagram is correct?

1) host1 ---> vCenter ----> map network drive

2) host1 ---> map network driver

sry my English not good, I hope I was able to explain correctly
