You might need to go get the latest possible VMware tools version since Server 2019 is still very new and no doubt bugs abound. You should be able to get it from my.vmware.com and go through the replacement process. Please search the web or these forums as this is a common task.

Hello,

I have installed an new domain controller server2019 std VM in one of the vvol datastore. Our existing AD forest and domain functional level are on server 2008R2. i went through all the standard steps of joining the new machine into the existing domain, promote it to be one of the DC member and enable DFS for the sysvol replication, And installed correct version of vmware tool to make sure all the vm drivers are properly functioning.

After several times of vm reboot, I could no longer get back into the window screen by the VM console or RDP, it just left with black screen after the window logo disappear right after a few second. I 've tried out the KB described here, VMware Knowledge Base but it did not work out for me. To prove that the issues only happened with server 2019. i repeat everything with server 2016 standard but all looking goods. Does anyone have any ideas about that ?

Appreciated your kindly help.
