The compatibility settings generally apply post-login.. If you're getting incorrect username... well, that's (probably) incorrect credentials OR you're connecting to the URL for the Identity Appliance (or vSphere SSO) rather than hitting the vCAC URL and letting it redirect first. I've found a lot of people bookmark at the login page, rather than once they're logged in... which presents all sorts of weird problems.

Hi,

I know there are issues with IE compatibility settings being turned on and VCAC 6.x according to the admin guides. After upgrading to VCAC 6.1, I am seeing an "incorrect username or password" error when trying to login to different IE browsers (on the same version, but different builds) As an example, My Windows 8.1 system can login to VCAC 6.1 fine and everything functions great (oddly with compatibility turned on) I try going to a Windows 2012 R2 server with a slightly lower build version of IE 11 and get "incorrect username or password". Also seeing this on IE 10 systems as well. My question for the forum: Have you had to change an other settings besides Compatibility view to get IE to work with VCAC 6.x and above (NOTE: Generally, I'd have everyone use Chrome, but our end users deploying systems will be using IE)

Thanks for your time

Thanks for your reply. I am redirecting using friendly name (http://Provisioning) which redirects to my tenant, so I can verify I am using the right URL. As far as the password goes, I tried several different creds which work fine on one system but not others. The browsers are the only difference I have found. It also seems like much more of a problem since the 6.1 upgrade.

Thanks Nugget, Your response at least helps me validate that this is a browser issue. I opened a case with Support and will post back to thread what the outcome is.

The resolution to this one is to verify the URL. Previously on VCAC 6.01, We used the rewrite rules in Apache to redirect https://VCACHOST/shell-ui-app/org/myorg to http://provisioning. In VCAC 6.1, the URL for the tenant changes to: https://VCACHOST/vcac When upgrading from 6.01 to 6.1 I update the rewrite rule to redirect to https://VCACHOST/vcac (which worked for existing VCAC users previous to the 6.1 upgrade) after talking to Support, I changed the redirected URL to https://VCACHOST/vcac/org/tenant and all browsers worked. I am not sure why existing users were redirected to my org tenant and new users were redirected to the default tenant, but in the end that was the issue.
