i looked at a lot of open source control panel options. this one seems to be, out of the more mature projects, the one with the most features:

is there any foreseeable reason this wouldnt be a suitable solution to my problem?

Thanks!

#####

Windows Server 2003 R2 32bit

VMware Server 1.0.6

Virtual Appliances LAMP 1.0.180

i would like to find an appliance i could manage without having to

resort to command line or configuration files. i am comfortable with

h-sphere and cpanel, and don't want to learn a new tool/interface.

is

it possible to use a control panel like to the ones above to manage the

LAMP appliance? or is there another LAMP appliance for vmware 2.0 that

has a built in control panel?

thanks in advance!

#####

Windows Server 2003 R2 32bit

VMware Server 2

Virtual Appliances LAMP 1.0.180

Not sure if this will help but take a look at webmin - this is a management utility that installs on your linux server and provides a graphically interface for managing your server. It includes modules to manage Apache and MySQL.

To access the webmin utility, you use a web browser and go to the IP address of the server and the port number you've assigned.

i am new to VMware and have no experience managing LAMP setups outside of the cpanel/hsphere scope. let me see if i'm getting this right: after the initial install/config, to manage a LAMP virtual appliance i WILL have to get dirty with .conf files and the command line interface?

Thanks!

#####

Windows Server 2003 R2 32bit

VMware Server 1.0.6

Virtual Appliances LAMP 1.0.180

#####
