We have been checking the official documentation in Iomega. I checked that ix2-200 is supported for ESXI 4.0 but We are not sure if there is support for ESX 5.0.

Anyone knows is this product is supported for vmware?. I have not found any related to IX2-200 and Esxi 5.0

Thanks in advance,

It could also mean VMware did not re-test this product over ESXi 5.0.

But, anyway, are you sure you want to run ESXi over this tiny product? It's certified but it does not mean it will run well. It has low IOPS values, small cache, slow processor... What's the size of your environment?

Luca.

Hi,

on VMware HCL the Iomega IX2-200 is certified only for ESXi4:

http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/detail.php?deviceCategory=san&productid=12947&deviceCategory=san&partner=30&arrayTypes=1,3&isSVA=1&page=6&display_interval=10&sortColumn=Partner&sortOrder=Asc

http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/detail.php?deviceCategory=san&productid=12946&deviceCategory=san&partner=30&arrayTypes=1,3&isSVA=1&page=6&display_interval=10&sortColumn=Partner&sortOrder=Asc

So I think you are out of luck for ESXi5.

Giuseppe

I am very sorry,, I was out.

My environment is an small one. There is only two users, I need to configure a environment where it be easy to replace the server when a disaster take place. Hypervisor, USB boot and NAS might be the solution. I've bought the NAS. I'm aware is not supported in Esxi 5.0 now, I was not sure, but I have read it runs correctly. It a cheap solution for a small enviornment.

If I have any news, I will post here.

See you.
