VM non responsive after snapshot

Hi,

in a VC 3 environment using ESX 3.0.2 and VC 2.0.2 U3 I do VCB snapshots every night. Yesterday a snapshot ended up with the status "operation timed out". The snapshot has been created, but the VM went completely unresponsive. We couldn't turn it of anymore using Virtual Center and had to kill -9 the process on the ESX server. Since that has been a rather important production VM, I'd like to know if anyone has experienced a similar behavior and knows how to prevent or debug it?

Was this a db vm? There are other threads pointing to problems while trying to quiesce db's when performing snapshots.

Disabling the sync driver should solve this problem. This has also been suggested by VMware Support.
