VMware Customization (survey?)

I apologize if this shows up twice. I wrote this up real nice but had a login error and it disappeared! I will try again...

I worked with a great software at my previous employer that allowed it's customers to customize the software. We were allowed to create things like custom right click menu's within the software to say for example, reboot a workstation, open a RDC session, to name a few. All customizations were created while working closely with the softwares' engineers. That got me thinking, I have some small things I would like to customize (I'm sure others do as well) in VMware that would be nice to create without having to wait for VMware to incorporate them into a future version release. One thing I would like to do is have a custom right click menu on the VM's to launch a backup, or perhaps check for the presence of company required user accounts.

If anyone out there has similar tasks that can be customized, I would love to hear them and maybe the VMware engineers could lend a helping hand in getting this started. Thank you

This is not exactly the same as I first wrote it but I think I am able to get my idea out there with this (or at least get it started). Thank you

Yes, I have both of those in place and they are great. And that is exactly what I am talking about, is customization within the VIC through scripts. We all know in IT there are several ways to do things, the easier we can make them the better. Have you ever needed to open a Computer Management console to a VM? How nice would it be if we could do that from the VIC with a right click? Or how about a Wake on LAN for the ESX hosts? How about adding the ability to select multiple VM's and sending a reboot command?

I guess after one day of this post being up, I see there is no interest in this subject. Just thought I would throw my .02. 😐
