I am running VMware Workstation 6.x on WIndows Vista. Is it possible to logout from Windows and keep active VM's running?

Thanks for the reply. I'll give the proposed solution a try and report back with my findings.
You may want to look at VMware Server if you want that type of functionality
Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm afreight VMware Server is a bit overkill for a one man operation such as myself. Budget wise that is
In fact I only need it for the occasional situation that I want to logout and back in because Windows misbehaves, without having to shudown or pause my VM's. It's also quite usefull when I want to establish a Remote Desktop connection to the host the VM's are running on. Although Windows supports switching users, apparently Remote Desktop needs to log the current user out before being able to establish a Remote Desktop connection.
FWIW, VMware Server is a free product.
Thanks for the tip and of course you're right Adam. I guess I had a few VMware products mixed up when I wrote that reply, because I actually knew that. I will need to set up an extra machine though, but I'm definitly going to consider that.
I would be much appreciated if advice and guide is provided. I have followed the procedure mentioned in the link: http://communities.vmware.com/thread/11210
However it didn't work. The new services was started after system reboot but I waited about 15 min and executing ping to the vm machine but no positive feedback. I login as administrator to find thou the new service was started but vmware workstation was no running apparently.
I run the command that I used to program the new service at DOS prompt, it works perfectly.
Following is my system configuration:
Windows 2003 with latest service pack and hot fixes configured as standalone machine
VMWare workstation 6.5.1
Thanks
