Hi All, I currently manage a ESX 3.5 enviroment consiting of 8 ESX Hosts (4 Live/4 DR), approx 200 virtual machines and NetApp Storage snapmirrored to DR site.
I am investigating creating a small enviroment in our offices in Australia (60 Users), the enviroment will need to host a few applications but mainly AD and Exchange. But my main focus is on exchange. Currently these users are accessing the enviroment above for these resourses over a 10GB WAN.
I have considered the following setup's.
1) 2 ESX 3.5 Hosts, running W2003 Hosts and Exchange 2003 using NetApp SME with iSCSI LUNS mirroring vm files and exchange data back to my UK office for DR.
2) 2 ESX 3.5 Hosts, running W2008 Hosts and Exchange 2007 using NetApp snapshots and SnapMirrored to UK. (But I am unsure if this will keey my exchange database consistant).
3) 2 ESX 3.5 Hosts, running W2008 Hosts and Exchange 2007 using LCS to vm's in UK. (But am unsure if a 10GB WAN with latency will be suitable)
4) 2 ESX 3.5 Hosts, running W2008 Hosts and Exchange 2007 using LCS and SME. (But not sure if LCS and SME work together).
Has anybody else had a requirement to create a similar solution, What are your thoughts?? What do I need to be careful off?
