i am trying to boot ubuntu with vmware. it worked like charm the first time it booted but then after i updated ubuntu it said i had to reboot. i rebooted then everything worked fine but then i got a message that said: The network bridge on device VMnet0 is temporarily down because the bridged Ethernet interface is down. The virtual machine may not be able to communicate with the host or with other machines on your network. after this i could not connect to the internet. any ideas on how to fix it? i tried re downloading the appliance ut that didnt work.

Hi, the error is probably to do with not having a currently working wired ethernet connection.
Do you really need to use bridged networking? If you just want to connect to the internet then you should be able to use NAT - select from the VMware Player toolbar on the Ethernet button.
There have been reports on this and the workstation forum about problems using bridged networking to wireless networks - have a search for them if you really do need a bridged connection.
