Share Info of ESX 3i installable on different server hardware vendors

Till now not many servers are on the HCL for esx 3i.

So I want to know who has installed anyway esx 3i on servers.

I installed esx 3i on HP DL 580 G5 since a month now. Till now I have no PSOD.

Anyone installed it on HP 585 G2 , HP 585 G1 , DELL 6950 , IBM 3755 , IBM 3950 and SUN X4600 ?

DELL R905, seems to work fine.

DL 380G5 which runs it great, also have it running on a flash drive using the 380 as the datastore to simulate the embedded version. It is also my understanding that the 380 will be HP's embedded platform but that is not official of course.

Running on DELL PE1950. No issues for 1+ months.

Tried installing it on an HP BL465c, with no luck. The installer wouldn't even boot properly. The full-version of 3.5.0 is working fantastic, though...

...I hope at some point, they are able to get this certified on more platforms. It's something we're VERY interested in.

I would like to share with all of you something that I have been using that has worked great so far. I have installed the installable version on a removable flash drive. This allows me to simulate the embedded version as all of my hard drive space can be partitioned out as /vmfs the same as it will be when the actual embeddeds release. I found very simple instructions in a blog here on the community site.

Installed 3i v3.5 Installable on a Dell 2970 (2 Dual-Core AMD Opteron 2222 SE 3GHz procs). I installed it yesterday, have been watching the logs until this morning & VMotioned some VMs to it just now. The server has Emulex HBAs. Everything looks to be working 100% still. It is connected to an existing VC 2.5 installation.
