ESX 3.0.2 Memory upgrade

Wondering if there is anything particular to do in ESX after upgrading the System RAM from 8 to 16 Gig...

Would the Service Console or other compontents need twicking or any other tasks required.

Thanks !!!

You won't have to make any configuration changes. It used to be with ESX 2.x that you would have to increase the swap file, but with ESX 3.x the swap file for VMs is created automatically each time you power on a VM. Just in case you're running ESX 3.0.x Starter, it does have a 8 GB memory limit. This limit is removed in ESX 3.5 Foundation (new name for the Starter edition).

Thinkpad21,

Check out this post I had a few weeks back. My nics were getting renumbered when I swapped memory. Just a heads up. I would make sure you don't have this issue when you upgrade your memory.
