This is not possible.

To install ESX in a VM you need Workstation 6 or Fusion.

Maybe Server 2 beta works as well, but I haven't tried it.

I don't believe it works with Server 2 beta as well, but not 100% sure on that.

According to a post from a VMware engineer Server 2 at least supports the required 32bit VT / SVM

Hi, I have VMserver 1.5 and have 2 ESXi running there.

My current problems are:

HA doesn't work;

VMotion doesn't work;

Turning on Virtual machines fail for low resources.

My system is a Q6600 with 4GB ram

Both ESXi have 2 cpu's and 1GB ram

And it's evaluation.

Is there anyone else with vmserver?

Do you have VC running somewhere- it is required both for HA and vmotion -

A more direct route for you

Installing on 6,5 Beta

Installing on 6.0.x

Note that 3.5 will not install and run VM guests on version 6.0 read this

If VC is Vierual Center, i have it running in another virtual machine with Windows XP.

I can't use workstation Beta right now, because i have some virtual machines in my vmware server.

Regards.
