SAN multipathing -- active/passive

Hi, folks,

I've just learned that our SAN only supports active/passive mode, but I think I configured my ESX servers under the assumption that it is active/active. Is there a way (and if so, what is it) to reconfigure the ESX servers to only use one path. The ESX servers are all running 3.0.2, and the SAN is a Hitachi 9570.

You can do that in VC.

Go on your datastore/properties/manage paths/policy/change and change to MRU.

You must do it for all your datastores

Hi Tom, you can see this guide - page 90 and following for the steps: . With an active/passive SAN you'll want to use the most recently used policy.
