Iphone in Vmware workstation 6.0.2

Is there anybody know if the vmware workstation 6.0.2 already have the bug fixed regarding iphone connection ? I have been searching for a couple days now but haven't got the answer.

Host : Vista 64 ultimate Guest : XP SP2

Right now is 02:24 am on wednesday in Shanghai , China. I supposed it's around noon on Tuesday in States, isn't it ? Still nobody from Vmware to care about my simple question ? I don't even beg u guys sending any patch or beta fix about it, i will try to find another way around if it the new 6.0.2 still haven't had the fix for iphone issue after 2 releases since 6.0.0 i supposed.

Hope you guys be kind enough in answering a simple question either from customer or customer 'to be' ...

Ok, that would be it. My patience is over, all I can say vmware might be a great software developed by great people, but regarding fixing bug and replying comment, they are suck. All "not free" software supposed to have good undergoing customer support to keep the customer and to lure the new customer, but seems like vmware failed to do so. Anyway, since I haven bought the software yet , i think i will have to find other way around, I would say i am going to download the torrent for vmware in since I still think vmware is still a great software, i think it's a bit worthed rather than spending the money without getting the support we supposed to get. Luckily haven't fallen into the trap.

Using vmware 6.0.1 iphone doesn't work (I can only see like digital camera) - so if I start itunes (last versione) I don't see iphone.

At last i downloaded vmware 6.01 and 6.02 at the same time and tried both of them, my desktop host is vista 64 and guest os is xp sp2. I found out last night , by using itunes 7.3.2.6 vmware only recognizes it as digital camera and freeze the itunes, but when using the latest itunes 7.4.3 it does recognize the iphone in the itunes (the first startup took along time) but not perfect as well... can see the iphone but can not synchronize it. I am not sure the symptom when using the latest itunes was because i am using firmware 1.0.2 in my iphone (the latest firmware is 1.1.1) or it's still the bug in the vmware that has not been completely resolved. since i am not in the US it's not the best bet for me to upgrade the firmware to 1.1.1, since i heard that 1.1.1 might have additional feature but as well as increased the security and many homebrew doesn't work with the latest firmware, that's what i hate most. so i am just going to stay with my 1.0.2 for now. I hope there is another wayaround to make it work tho. If not all i can do is just synchronize the iphone with my laptop since it has xp installed in it. At least for now i am satisfied with this, since i got the vmware for free for both version...hehehe

These forums are meant for other users to help you, not a VMware employee. Occasionally a VMware employee will respond, but that is not their main job. If you realy have a support issue, just call VMware support. I think you can even do that for evaluation products.

I thought the vmware community is the forum for vmware user and developer. I think there is no one will have a better idea whether the bug is fixed in spesific version or not rather than the developer, don't u think ?

Not mentioning the phone fee for calling US from shanghai, don't u think it will be very helpful not only for me but also for other user to know the answer of my question if they are experiencing the same problem as mine , IF ONLY the employee of vmware give me that simple YES/NO question ?

Does anybody have the iPhone working with VMWare Workstation 6.0.2? I sure don't. I thought it would work, even bough the upgrade from V5 to V6 because V6 touts "USB 2.0 support", but so far no go. iTunes does see the iPhone, sometimes, but when it does, it throws up an error message that it can't communicate with it.

6.0.2 won't makes our iphone runs, it just won't happen. It does recognize the iphone , just sometimes, but can not sync. my advise is just forget about vmware for doing this sync task, try dual boot for now, until vmware has a fix for this issue. i tried every possible humanly possible, but still doesn't work, and it seems vmware has no response regarding this issue, seems like they want to cover up their stink ass rather than giving a response like " I am sorry, it hasn'tbeen fix for 6 months" . One word "irresponsible" !

The bad thing is you bought already that software, since i am pretty pissed off about them not giving any response regarding this matter, i just downloaded the 6.0.2 for free from torrent. It's illegal, but i am sure thats the most worthed way knowing their attitude toward the issue.
