I'm not turning up a lot via Google --- sorry if I'm having a bad search day.
I know that virtual hosting providers out there are a dime a dozen, but I was wondering if there are solid hosting services for virtual machines? We have a number of small VMs on a couple of ageing colocated machines that we own (running Server). I was musing about the possibility of having them hosted elsewhere instead of upgrading the colo'ed hardware. It'd be kind of cool to just move the VMs instead.
Hi Blackpuma,
Maybe you can contact them and arrange something:
This is their description:
quote "
virtualization.info Rent-A-Lab is a fully-redundant enterprise infrastructure available on demand.
Every part of the equipment can be reached and configured online, including physical servers, network switches and SANs. No need to transport racks to your site!
It can be used to introduce your customers new solutions, to train company staff on new technologies, to compare and benchmark different products, to evaluate new software features or try a new beta or to study for a certification exam. "
good luck
That's an interesting service, but I'm looking for something for more than a period of days, i.e. longer term, such as what we have in current colo setup.
VMware announced the "VMware Service Provider Program" in June of this year which sounds exactly what your after.
