Can the virtual machine template be used in local storage ?

Dear friends,

I create a virtual machine template in one ESX Host A, but when I create the virtual machine using the template in ESX host B.

An error occurs.

Pls. note the ESX host A and ESX Host B don't use the shared storage.

Must the ESX host A and Esx Host B use the storage, to share the template?

Both servers would need to see the storage where the template is stored. See page 6 (differences from prior versions) - http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vc_2_templates_usage_best_practices_wp.pdf
