VM Startup

Is there a way of initiating the VM guest startup script without having to reboot? I am in the process of troubleshooting why my VMs are not autostarting even though they are explicitly added to the auto startup list and the auto startup has been enabled. My server is not a member of any cluster and it is a painful process because I am having to reboot each time to see if my changes will auto start my VMs.

I think you can go for /etc/init.d/vmware-autostart start

Is there anything that would prevent this script from running? I am finding that as I add some of my VMs into inventory from a fresh install (without formatting VMFS) that I after adding a few the autostart stops working. Ideas?

Nothing of interest in the /var/log/vmware/hostd.log or the logs for the VMs themselves?
