ISA 2006...

Thinking about virtualising two ISA 2006 servers and moving away from the current physical ISA 2000 servers.. (just for web proxies, 2003 Std Edtn srv with ISA 2006 Std Edtn.)

Just wondered if any one has ISA 2006 installed in a production environment on virtuals running on ESX..., and if so did you come accross any problems specific to a virtual environment.., there dont seem to be many postings on this subject.

Basic stats for our environment... +- 300 user connections per server. Both servers in seperate sites.. Internet pipe is 10mb..

We have ISA servers running in production on ESX 3 servers. We don't have any problems with this setup. The consultant (MVP) who installed the ISA servers had no problems at all with them beeing virtual.

Our ISA's are running web proxy and VPN for remote users.

Should be no problem at all with this. We ran ISA 2000 back on ESX1.x and we currently run ISA2004 on ESX3. The network team hasn't moved to 2006 at our site but they tell me there have been zero issues with the previous versions.

Here's a thread on some of the previous versions along with VMWare:

I recently migrated a physical ISA2004 array to ISA2006 vm.

No problem so far, performance OK with dual vCPU.

late reply, i know but thanks for all your responses....

I tried to dish out the VMTN help points but it only lets me assign two people as "helpfull answers" so picked the first two.
